Before choosing a product
Prepare a short description of your move for the insurer. Keep sensitive medical information in its designated secure channels, not in general enquiries.
- Which residence must you hold when you apply and when cover starts?
- Can you buy before arrival, and is a Portuguese address needed?
- Does the contract cover the journey, temporary arrival period or ongoing residence?
Before relying on a certificate
Check that the names, dates, territory and relevant benefits match your actual contract. Ask the consular authority for the current checklist if applying for a visa. A statement on a seller’s website is not an administrative decision.
Before ending existing cover
Ask the current provider how moving affects your contract and check the accepted start date of the replacement arrangement. Save written answers alongside the conditions and the assistance contact. Revisit the folder whenever your dates change.
