Residents of Portugal considering cover for several trips.
Start with eligibility for Portuguese residents, then compare each planned journey with the contract’s duration and geographical limits.
Make a simple travel calendar
Write a row for every trip, with departure, return and countries visited. Add any longer stay you are considering. Ask the provider whether all rows fit the same contract.
Check separate limits
Look for both per-trip and policy-period rules. If a limit is unclear, ask for an explanation using one of your planned trips.
- Maximum duration of one trip and any total time-away limit.
- Conditions for starting and ending a trip.
- People covered and whether they can travel separately.
- Treatment of trips already booked when the contract begins.
Avoid a universal break-even rule
A lower total premium does not establish equivalent benefits. Compare the documents as well as the price. No number of yearly trips makes an annual contract automatically suitable for everyone.
